This is one of the most unsettling places I have ever been. Deep under a quiet street in Moscow, capped by a 30-foot thick barrier of solid steel and concrete disguised as an apartment building, sits the bunker that Stalin decreed be built to ensure the survival of the Politburo in the event of a nuclear war.
This creepy, moldering facility is now open for tours, and is being converted into a nightclub and art gallery. Capitalism marches on, and Stalin approaches 5400 rpm in his grave.
