Trippi notes that Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s YouTube spots<br \/>gathered an aggregate of 14.5 million viewing hours. The Internet was<br \/>used by candidate previously, he said, noting the Howard Dean campaign,<br \/>but Obama really leveraged it fully with online video, blogging, social<br \/>networking and fundraising.<\/p>\n<p>The panelists also note how mainstream media tends to fail in<br \/>politics, simply reporting on what each candidate says without saying<br \/>who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s right or wrong. The blogosphere, they say (particularly Trippi<br \/>and Huffington), tends to call out factual inaccuracies better than<br \/>mainstream media.<\/p>\n<p>Howard Dean showed that the Internet could be used to raise lots of<br \/>money online, say the panelists.
