Of all the strange cultural crossovers, the fact that the whole “Morning Zoo” radio phenomenon has made it to Moscow is the one that freaks me out the most. Every morning, Sergei the sullen driver has this radio program on, and every once in a while, he smirks to himself over some obscure bit of Russian humor. Probably involving very ugly men with horn-rimmed glasses dressing up as babushkas.
Meanwhile, the poster next to them has one of the oiliest, most “rico … suave …” looking guys I’ve seen out of a Pink Panther parody movie. White hair (toupee) and a white silk scarf … this man is a playa … wow.
Also – check out all the old architecture in teh background. This park is surrounded by beautiful 19th-century buildings.
